HUGE NEWS: Vinny Walsh Films Bringing Stage Hit 'The Death of @BlanchMarcot' to the Screen!

Vinny Walsh Films is absolutely thrilled – and incredibly proud – to announce that we will be championing the screen adaptation of the theatre sensation and critically acclaimed The Death of @BlanchMarcot!

Penned by the fiercely talented Melbourne writer Rue Tunga, this incredible satirical and political comedy brought a refresthingly honest and important commentary on the state of the creative industry during it's run at the Melbourne Fringe in 2024.

For those who missed it, The Death of @BlanchMarcot was a theatre production that masterfully skewered the often-absurd inner workings of the fictional, world-renowned theatre company, 'Blanch Marcot'. We're plunged into their world as they desperately try to manage the disastrous political and social fallout from their most recent, badly mishandled production, 'Super Fluous'.

The drama ignites during a tense, emergency "disaster-prevention" meeting, throwing together a diverse (and hilariously mismatched) group of the company's employees. As the meeting spirals, the polished facade cracks, exposing the raw nerves of shallowness, inequality, and naked greed hiding just beneath the company's prestigious mask. It's all delivered with razor-sharp wit and biting social commentary that makes you laugh even as you cringe.

The Death of @BlanchMarcot isn't just starting its journey; it already proved its power and relevance by being selected for the 'Fringe Fund', receiving crucial support during its original festival run.
